The APAC Resiliency team, in partnership with the business, is responsible for the management and delivery of the firm’s Resiliency Program in APAC which include the development of legal entity business resiliency strategies, co-ordination of testing of recovery capabilities and support of crisis management.


As a Resiliency Manager in the APAC Resiliency team, you will manage and deliver the firm's Resiliency program, including legal entity business strategies, testing of recovery capabilities, and crisis management support. You will be based in Japan and support the planning, preparation, response, recovery of Japan and South Korea franchise during a disruption.  You will have opportunity to expand to support regional/global initiatives from time to time.  You will develop partnerships with businesses end to end i.e. front office, operations and technology, and have interactions with individuals at a senior level in the organization, and other key partners in Facilities, Technology, Global Security and Crisis Management, Audit and Operational/Information Risk Management and Oversight and Controls teams. You will report to a Resiliency Executive Director in APAC Resiliency team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee program compliance for the business for Business Resiliency Plans and Business Impact Analyses to ensure completeness, required standards, and testing and validation of resiliency strategies.
  • Promote resiliency knowledge sharing among resiliency community, including regular resiliency awareness sessions.
  • Identify capability gaps and manage remediation in partnership with the business and/or technology teams.
  • Assist and arbitrate the activities of other resiliency professionals.
  • Lead large scale crisis events and communicate to senior Business and Regional Management.
  • Conduct risk profiling for the firm's locations, functions and initiatives and articulate risks, threats and vulnerabilities accurately and intelligently.
  • Provide consolidated control reporting for the businesses as required (i.e., scorecards, metrics, semi-annual corporate reviews and other operations/technology reporting requirements)
  • Maintain awareness of industry, business, product, technology and control issues relating to resiliency.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Native Japanese speaker with proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with Japan and South Korea local regulatory environment.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural cross border corporate environment, with direct manager based in a different location.
  • Strong relationship and influencing skills, and the ability to interface with business, operations and technology contacts at all levels.
  • Good project management & personal organization skills.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven data organization and analysis skills 
  • Proven ability to work a diverse, multi-country/region team and independently.
  • Flexibility to adjust to sudden changes to meet business objectives.
  • Availability during non-business hours.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Experience in Resiliency Risk Management, change management or transformation will be a plus.
  • Prior experience in a control or similar function.
