Main Responsibilities 

As Product owner you own the vision behind the products for Japan contracting and offer development. Delivering the product that addresses customer needs and contributes to the goals of the organization.  

Core responsibilities:
1. Close collaboration with business stakeholders to understand the current pain points and gap in contracting and offer development processes and partner with IT to select the right technology product for resolution

2. Gather customer requirements to map the product vision and scope
3. Translate the product vision into product backlog
4. Prioritize and manage the product backlog to deliver the right value at the right time
5. Lead the Japan P&C Agile Pod to ensure the Agile pod focuses on what truly drives business impact — balancing stakeholder needs, strategic goals, and user insights.
6. Manage the end-to-end product life cycle. (transformation, grow, run)

7. Partner with global data core and analytics teams to support analytics package creation to enable better decision/actions for contracting and offer development

 

Must Haves 

Job Experience  

  • Minimum 6 years of experience with leading end to end program/project execution

  • Experience in multinational/international companies 

  • Experience with technical product launches in a lead role

Skill / Knowledge 

  • Fluent with Japanese and English

  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Good influencing skills

  • Able to translate customer needs into a scalable technical solution that brings value

  • Able to understand the implication of architecture design for alignment with solution architects on the best option for the product, however it’s not required for PO to have skills of mapping architecture design, mainly to understand the why and impact of design for product roadmap, timeline and value delivery to make an informed product strategic decision

 

Competency 

  • Effective communicator with both business and technical stakeholders

  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional and technical teams

  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above 

 

Nice to Haves 

Job Experience  

  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences industry

  •  Experience as a product owner or in a related product management role within an agile software development environment 

Skill / Knowledge 

  • Understand the basics of Lean Six Sigma methodologies

  • Strong analytics skills to partner with analytics team SMEs to translate customer needs into an action driven insight 

  • Familiarity with major CRM platforms

  • Knowledge of Salesforce functionalities 

  • Knowledge of Jira, Miro, and Analytics tool like Power BI

Competency 

  • Having any certificates within Agile and project management is a plus (PMP, certified product owner, certified scrum master, lean six sigma green belt etc.,)
