A Brief Overview
The Item Processing Department is responsible for processing all transactions deposited via the branch or other remote deposit channels. The Item Processing Representative utilizes various vendor and Microsoft Office programs to balance transactions, correct entries, send cash letters, and post transactions to customer's accounts.
What you will do
- Key, balance, and post all customer transactions from multiple channels accurately and within deadlines.
- Verify transaction documents are received from each branch throughout the day.
- Ensure scanners are communicating correctly from each FirstBank branch throughout the day.
- Maintain an understanding of various forms as well as exceptions that can apply for each.
- Balance entries for centralized transactions.
- Review and repair transactions as well as correct any discrepancies.
- Ensure remote deposit images are received and balanced.
- Facilitate branch phone calls, both in and outbound to make sure good images are obtained.
- Work with the Fraud, Monitor Room, IT, and Bookkeeping Departments to review transactions.
- Approve same day corrections.
- Destroy stored files in accordance with retention regulations.
- Prepare reports, logs, and spreadsheets for various departments within given deadlines.
- Assist with testing upgrades and troubleshoot issues with machinery or documents when needed.
- Verify daily information received matches spreadsheets and reports.
- Provide quality customer service to customers and branch employees.
- Daily prioritization of assigned tasks and time needed for completion in order to make sure all deadlines are met.
- Uphold all privacy and compliance regulations.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy.
Minimum Requirements
- Entry-level job with little or no prior relevant work experience in the function
Preferred Requirements
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work with computers
- Work independently and as a team
- Customer Service experience preferred
- Strong organization and time management skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess analytical and problem solving
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
- Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
- Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
- Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
- Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
Salary Range
$20.00 Per Hour
