Pay Range:  $28 -$33 hourly compensation

Job Description

The Resident Technology Support Specialist provides personalized, hands-on technology support to residents, helping them confidently use and enjoy a wide range of everyday technology. This role combines strong technical skills with exceptional customer service to deliver on-site troubleshooting, device setup, technology education, and ongoing support. The ideal candidate is patient, approachable, and passionate about helping others navigate technology in a clear and understandable way.

  • Provide personalized technology support and troubleshooting for residents.
  • Assist with computers, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, streaming devices, printers, Wi-Fi, and other connected technology.
  • Set up devices, software applications, email accounts, and video conferencing tools.
  • Educate residents on cybersecurity, online safety, and best practices for using technology.
  • Deliver technology orientation and support for new residents.
  • Document service requests and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Communicate technical information in a clear, patient, and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Conduct occasional group technology training sessions and workshops.

     

    Qualifications

    Candidates should have experience supporting a variety of consumer and business technologies, including:

    • Windows and macOS operating systems
    • iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and tablets
    • Smart TVs and streaming devices (Roku, Apple TV, Fire Stick, Chromecast)
    • Home Wi-Fi networks, wireless printers, and Bluetooth devices
    • Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, email applications, and internet browsers
    • Password management and basic networking concepts
    • Cybersecurity best practices, including virus, malware, and phishing awareness

    Preferred: Experience working with older adults, senior living communities, or the retirement housing industry.

    Qualifications

    • 1–3 years of desktop support, help desk, or technical support experience preferred.
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to explain technology in simple, non-technical language.
    • Patient, courteous, and service-oriented personality.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when moving or installing equipment.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if supporting multiple community locations.

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate degree in Information Technology preferred.
