We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Support Engineer to join our Corporate IT team in Manchester, UK. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, this is an entry/mid-level opportunity for someone eager to grow their career in IT, supporting internal users and gaining exposure to a wide range of systems and technologies.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and play a key role in keeping our internal platforms running smoothly by providing first-line support, maintaining hardware and software, and contributing to process improvement and documentation.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Providing Follow the Sun (F-T-S) first point resolution/escalation of IT incidents and service requests through the IT service desk platform, within set SLA
  • Responding to and resolving IT incidents and service requests via our internal service desk platform
  • Setting up and supporting user devices (laptops, monitors, peripherals, phones) and onboarding/offboarding employees
  • Troubleshooting basic hardware, software, and network issues
  • Supporting meeting room technology and collaboration tools
  • Logging and maintaining documentation and asset registers
  • Escalating complex issues to senior engineers where required
  • Assisting with the development and deployment of internal IT projects within the Corporate IT environment.

You will be a proactive technician who actively seeks opportunities to improve your skills and the IT environment. Attention to detail and recognising that standardisation and documentation are essential to our success. You will be someone who loves to be social and have fun, be an approachable team member and actively contribute to the culture of the Corporate IT department and Vix Technology.

Essential Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, or related discipline
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a globally decentralised team
  • Enthusiastic personality with excellent communication skills

Desirable (but not essential)

  • ITIL Foundations Certification
  • Previous experience in a service desk or IT support role (including internships or volunteering)
  • Exposure to tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Jira/Confluence
  • Relevant industry recognised certifications are considered advantageous but not essential (e.g., CompTIA A+, MTA, Microsoft, Cisco)
