Teledyne Gavia provides AUV turnkey survey solutions to customers undertaking a variety of tasks for military, commercial and scientific applications. Teledyne Gavia has established itself as a market leader in the production of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), including Gavia, Osprey, and SeaRaptor class AUVs, which are deployed in military, commercial, and scientific applications worldwide.

Job Summary:

Teledyne GAVIA is looking for committed IT Engineer to join our team in the Kopavogur office, playing a crucial role within our global support network. This position is tailored for someone eager to provide exceptional first-line, on-site IT support to our 50+ strong workforce in Iceland and Nordic including our remote locations in Denmark, Sweden.

As a vital part of the IT Shared Services (ITSS) division, you'll collaborate closely with Teledyne ITSS employees across various departments, ensuring seamless IT operations. Your responsibilities will encompass administering Windows desktops, offering on-site and remote operational support. While your primary focus will be the Kopavogur office, you'll also support our remote facilities, ensuring comprehensive coverage and efficiency in our IT operations.

Requirements:

Refers to multiple proficiencies, such as but not limited to:

  • End users and their equipment. For example, PC’s and Laptops running a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Printer installation, networking, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • An array of Microsoft applications such as Office, Visio, Project etc.
  • Ensure compliance of and react to information from Enterprise Anti-Virus and other security tools. 
  • CAD applications
  • Mobiles phones (iPhone & Android)
  • New user configuration and setup via Active Directory
  • Troubleshooting issues that the IT Service Desk have not been able to resolve remotely.
  • Liaising with hardware and software vendors.
  • Support and maintenance of conference room equipment such as video conferencing systems, conference phones etc. 
  • Acting as a “point of contact” for day-to-day IT support. Not all incidents will arrive with you via a ticketing platform. The role requires somebody dynamic who can work effectively on the flight responding to requests from multiple angles and subsequently prioritizing workload to achieve the required outcome.
  • Remote IT support for travelling users; usually delivered using remote tools such as TeamViewer or Teams.
  • Maintain the outlying comms racks throughout the facility. For example, patching wall ports within comms racks.
  • Manage and maintain OU’s within Active Directory including users, groups and objects.
  • Placing hardware orders.
  • The position will be responsible for interfacing directly with the Teledyne employees who have IT problems. This will be done in person, via phone and various forms of written communication (e.g. email, ticketing system and instant messaging).

Work location:

  • The primary workplace is the Kopavogur facility, serving 50+ users. This role necessitates full-time office presence. While remote work opportunities exist, they are evaluated and granted on an individual basis, and support users remotely, not in Iceland.

Travels:

  • 10% International travel may take place, visiting remote locations. Estimated approximately 4 trips per year.

Qualifications:

  • Computer related Degree/Diploma/Microsoft or any IT Professional Certification and or equivalent work experience.

Competencies & Skills:

  • General:
    • Exceptional analytical and methodical troubleshooting abilities.
    • Proficient in English, both verbal and written communication.
    • Excellent customer service attributes
