WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

As a global leader in our space, SimCorp is on a journey to transform from a traditional enterprise software company into a technology-enabled services business, while maintaining our double-digit, highly profitable growth. To further support and drive this journey, we are transitioning to a horizontal delivery model, aligned to client outcomes. Within this setup, the Technical Enablement team plays a critical role in ensuring that value stream teams have the technical foundations, tooling, infrastructure, and support needed to deliver efficiently and reliably.

We are looking for an IT Support Consultant who enjoys solving complex technical problems, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes ownership of issues from start to finish.

The Technical Enablement team is often the last point of escalation when delivery teams encounter technical challenges. As an IT Support Consultant, you will act as a trusted technical partner, helping teams navigate infrastructure, tooling, testing, and configuration-related issues.

You will investigate problems, coordinate with specialist teams when required, and ensure issues are followed through to resolution. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, a structured troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is not a traditional helpdesk role. You will be expected to understand technical systems, read and debug code when needed, and contribute to improving the reliability and efficiency of our delivery environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Provide first-line technical support for infrastructure, tooling, environments, and development processes.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and coordinate resolution of technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Take ownership of problems from initial investigation through successful resolution.

  • Support and maintain test environments and end-to-end infrastructure.

  • Monitor automated test executions and analyze failures to identify root causes.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, business consultants, and product teams to resolve delivery blockers.

  • Assist business consultants in working with configuration and DevOps-based development practices.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, quality, and delivery reliability.

WHAT WE VALUE

Your high-quality communication, coordination and interpersonal skills will enable you to direct all activities to planned outcomes. As our preferred candidate, you will have:

  • Experience in technical support, application support, IT operations, software delivery, DevOps, or a similar technical role.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate incidents and identify root causes.

  • Ability to take ownership of issues and drive them through to resolution, coordinating with multiple stakeholders when needed.

  • Basic understanding of software development principles and the software delivery lifecycle.

  • Experience with, or willingness to work with, technologies and tools such as:

  • C# or another object-oriented programming language

  • Git and source control systems

  • Test automation frameworks

  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Azure DevOps or similar platforms

  • Scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)

  • Infrastructure, application, and environment troubleshooting

  • Monitoring and logging tools

  • SQL and database fundamentals

  • Ability to read, understand, and debug code, even if software development is not your primary role.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in an Agile environment.

  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on increasing efficiency, quality, and delivery reliability.
