About the Role
Data security is of the upmost importance to us and as a result we are looking for a sharp candidate with a strong IT troubleshooting background to support our growing organization and further strengthen our IT security. The IT Specialist will support our organization in several ways including system administration, media streaming, and managing hardware logistics. Please note: This is an onsite role working out of our SLC, UT office.
Travel requirements: This role will require light travel to our West Coast offices throughout the year (Omaha, Las Vegas, San Francisco).
Here’s What you’ll do day-to-day:
- Take ownership of the IT operations, issues and projects for the SLC office
- Act as a first point of contact for on-site and remote IT questions
- Provide ongoing troubleshooting, customer service, and IT support for all internal employees via our ticketing system
- Administrative tasks in various systems (Microsoft365, door access control systems, phone system, etc.)
- Configure and deploy laptops and peripherals for new hires
- Onboard and conduct brief IT review with new hires
- Maintain inventory and procure new hardware as needed
- Solve hardware logistical concerns as needed
- Execute, create, and maintain departmental written procedures
- Research new and existing technologies, techniques, and best practices in support of software production as directed
- Install and maintain network cabling, telecommunication, and multimedia devices
- Assist with installing networking equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and proxy devices as needed
- Collaborate directly with other internal teams as need
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working on IT service desks and/or with IT ticketing systems
- Experience troubleshooting and working with Microsoft365/Azure portals
- Experience troubleshooting hardware such as laptops, monitors, conferencing equipment and peripherals
- Familiarity with IT office equipment, printers, networking, cable types, TVs, projectors, and other media/AV integrations
- Ability to work directly with users to ensure issues are fully resolved
- Proven ability to prioritize and work independently for assigned tasks as well as working collaborative in a team environment
- Genuine technical passion and eagerness to perform high-quality work
- Sincere interest in supporting others, with the ability to work directly with users to fully resolve issues
- Ability to confidently communicate and collaborate directly with high-profile executives, including the CEO
- Exposure and some understanding of monitoring tools, threat alerts, and GUI-based dashboards
- Ability to quickly learn and integrate new concepts and 3rd party software tools
- Familiarity with various networking services and protocols such as HTTPS, SMTP, SFTP, RDP, associated ports, and how to set-up or troubleshoot these in a production environment
- Demonstrated understanding of RBAC (role-based access controls), IAM (Identity Access Management), and LPAC (Least Privileged Access Control)
- Fundamental understanding of IT security, possible risk vectors, and vulnerabilities
