IT Specialist

Job Description:

The IT Specialist is responsible for several tasks related to overseeing the company’s computer networks and improving the network systems. The IT Specialist has knowledge of network implementation and maintenance. This position has an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of the IT operations, and an ongoing impact on the company’s overall growth.
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, phone systems, camera systems, alarm systems, video systems, laptops, desktops, embedded systems, software, printers, and network hardware.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
  • Assist purchasing of new hardware/software.
  • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.
  • Analyze department needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure network components meet needs and work together seamlessly, using the full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitive solutions.
  • Continually analyze current processes, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement.
  • Train employees on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Develop and execute disaster procedures and maintain data backups.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Computer Science
  • 3+ years’ experience in IT Management
  • Experience with programming languages and operating systems (VMware, Office 365, Active Directory, and other Linus and Windows-based systems), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring.
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing solutions.
