The LinSEE Platform Engineer is a hybrid role combining software development capability, DevOps/build expertise, and Linux system administration skills. This role is critical for ensuring smooth software development, reliable builds, CI/CD operations, deployments, and stable LinSEE platform usage for Nokia R&D teams. The candidate must be hands-on, Linux-strong, and enterprise-ready, capable of working independently in Nokia’s centralized R&D infrastructure hosted on NESC.
Responsibilities- Develop, build, and test software for the LinSEE platform.
- Debug build and runtime issues using logs and Linux diagnostic tools.
- Adhere to Nokia SDLC, coding, and quality standards.
- DevOps / Build & CI. Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze build failures, test results, and CI logs. Support build system configuration and optimization.
- Ensure tool and version consistency to maintain reproducible builds.
- Operate confidently on RHEL-based LinSEE servers.
- Manage access, permissions, SSH/VNC usage, and environment-related issues.
- Coordinate with LinSEE administrators and IT teams when required.
Qualifications
You have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree with 8–12 years of experience having strong Linux foundation with a solid engineering mindset.
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat / Enterprise Linux.
- Proven ability to work independently with high ownership.
- Should come from R&D background with experience building systems from scratch.
- Exposure to AI/ML ecosystems
- Confident command-line usage (bash, grep, awk, sed, ps, top, system logs).
- Understanding of Kernel basics, RPM-based tools, Build RPMS, Image Building, and dependency/deployment management.
- Should have background in SCM & Build. Familiarity with build systems (Make, CMake, etc.).
- Solid experience with Git (branching, merging, reviews).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
- Ability to independently troubleshoot across layers: Code → Build → CI → OS
- Comfortable working in process-driven enterprise environments and wearing multiple hats like Development, Operations, Platform.
Nice-to-Have:
- Prior exposure to Flask, Waitress (WSGI), MySQL, SaltStack, RH-IDM, LinSEE, or Nokia environments.
- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Perl, Python).
