Your Mission:
Come build the software platforms behind clinical genomics at ARUP Laboratories. As part of the Biocomputing team, you’ll design and operate high-throughput, cloud-enabled systems that transform sequencing data into diagnostic results for inherited and rare diseases—work that directly impacts patient care at scale.
You will be a leading contributor to software development projects. You will perform software programming along with other software development lifecycle activities (requirements, design, test, documentation, 2nd and 3rd level support).
Your Unique Contribution:
Come with extensive experience and an expert at basic programming concepts within standard architectural patterns. You should have experience with and are proficient with more advanced architectural patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM), Service Oriented Architecture, SOLID programming concepts, and application security. You will help establish ARUP software practices. You will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. You may even help lead and direct the work of others.
Talent Needed:
Our primary stack includes React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, C#, .NET, RESTful and GraphQL microservices. You should also have familiarity with MongoDB, AWS or another Cloud is a plus.

Essential Tasks and Deliverables:
• Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. These programs may include desktop applications, interfaces, web applications, stored procedures, or other software artifacts depending on specific job responsibility.
• Adheres to ARUP’s enterprise software development policies and departmental software development processes.
• Maintains expertise in applicable software development tools, techniques and environments.
• May help establish ARUP software development practices
• Helps or mentors other project team members.
• Facilitates the architecture and design decisions for their team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or better.
Master's Degree or better.
Experience
Required
Ten (10) years of relevant and current Information Technology experience
Five (5) years of Supervisory experience with multiple direct reports
Demonstrated management and leadership skills, including :
Willingness and ability to collaborate across IT and business units;
Proactively communicates with all levels of the organization;
Strategic thinking (solves problems for the entire organization)
Preferred
Advanced degree in computer, business, healthcare, or related field
