As our Software Developer, you will be working closely with business analysts, users (Trades, Front office, Middle office & Back office) and development teams to support, maintain and enhance our ETRM and other trading-related applications. You provide L2 and L3 level applications support and contribute to enhancing the utility of these applications to enable our Supply & Trading division’s core business goals.
Responsibilities:
- You will be part of a squad who are the front office IT support, providing detailed technical analysis and resolving production incidents coming from a wide range of trading systems
- Your main responsibility is to ensure the smooth technical operation and development of the trading systems under your team’s scope of support
- Be the first point of contact for the customer regarding production incidents.
- Act as an interface between the business users, Business Analysts, and the rest of the development teams
- Fixing production problems by providing clear and unambiguous guidelines to the iteration leader/business analysts.
- Provide L2 and L3 level application support on technical issues with the rest of the technical squad members. Work closely with the squad to determine issues and propose solutions.
- Operation and problem solving of business applications including monitoring of system jobs, interfaces, and in-house developed solutions.
- Response and resolution management of day-to-day user issues related to all types of trading applications
- Specify, design, implement, document, and test business application solutions that integrate consistently into the existing IT system landscape.
- Manage changes and small projects with sound change/ project management methods.
- Coordinate with 3rd party application vendors, data sourcing agencies to resolve issues

- Experience with SSRS, crystal reporting, MS Power BI (or equivalent business intelligence tools)
- Knowledge and experience in working within Agile software development framework.
- Relevant combination of education, training, or work experience in commodity trading, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Banking, or the equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of Excel VBA and PowerPivot
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Reverse engineer and map the logic used in legacy scripts/bespoke solutions. Then build better/efficient solutions with the latest data analytical tools & technologies.
- Querying and building reports from legacy databases.
- Specify, design, implement, document, and test business application solutions that integrate consistently into the existing IT system landscape.
- Build/maintain data exchange interfaces (APIs), FTPs, automation solutions, data warehouses
- Code optimization for SQL, Store procedures, and SSIS packages•Review code & scripts developed by peers and suggest improvements/bug identifications.
- Assist in code deployment and implementing release procedures for production changes.
- Analysis, designing of solutions that fix or, enhance IT applications in the Energy Trading landscape
