As a Senior Business Analyst in the Research Platforms team, you will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of IT solutions that align with the business's strategic goals. You will focus on translating complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements, working closely with development teams, stakeholders, and other business units. With a deep understanding of both the business and technical sides, you will ensure that the solutions delivered meet both business objectives and technical standards.
Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business needs into requirements, ensuring they are thoroughly documented through technical requirements, workflow diagrams, and functional specifications.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate potential gaps and inconsistencies in business workflows, optimizing processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead the creation, refinement, and management of product backlogs, ensuring that user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria are well-defined and align with business goals.
  • Oversee acceptance testing, working with stakeholders and QA teams to ensure that deliverables meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitate communication of either changes in requirements or changes in development between the development team and business owners.
  • Manage issues reported through the Help Desk to resolution, manage issue communication with stakeholders.
  • Conduct effective project management to ensure key project deadlines are met.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior business analysts and team members, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.


Qualifications

  • Ability to work towards fast moving, strict deadlines, that are set with high-quality standards in a dynamic working environment
  • 5+ years' experience working as a business analyst or product owner
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying databases to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to analyze and present data insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical solutions.
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Good knowledge of BPMN and/or UML
  • Flexible mindset with strong ability to adapt for constantly shifting business requirements and needs
  • Proficient business English oral and writing skills (the company's working language is English)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of understanding and speaking both technologically and from a business perspective


Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the services industry (preferably the financial service industry in combination with the SRI/RI market);
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment
  • Master or bachelor's degree in related discipline (business, finance, information science, ICT)
  • Passion about global sustainability issues like environment protection or human rights
