The McShane Companies is looking for an IT Security Administrator!
We have an opportunity for an IT Security Administrator I to support our Cybersecurity program functions across The McShane Companies, our family of commercial, industrial, and multi-family general contracting businesses. This individual will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including the day-to-day administration of cybersecurity tools and devices, as well as first-level support for security information and event management (SIEM). Detects and assesses security events and incidents across the Matrix environment, and implements new processes and procedures as identified by the leadership team to ensure the continuous improvement to monitoring, detection and mitigation capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for IT functions and the Security Analyst team.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives aligned with IT and Company strategic objectives.
- Administer and maintain security systems, applications, network devices, and related controls in accordance with established policies and industry best practices.
- Conduct threat, vulnerability, and compliance assessments and coordinate remediation of identified risks.
- Partner with IT Infrastructure to apply security patches and harden systems by addressing control weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
- Investigate and resolve security incidents, system vulnerabilities, and security failures.
- Monitor security events, prepare management reports, and escalate unresolved exposures and compliance issues.
- Research, evaluate, and implement cybersecurity solutions to protect against emerging threats.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Provide Tier 1 security support and apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to business requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, vendors, and peers.
- Perform routine responsibilities independently and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent job-related experience/knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- 1+ years of IT or network security experience and understanding of IT infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and associated network protocols and concepts.
- Certification from CompTIA, (ISC)2, or SANS / GIAC preferred.
- Working technical knowledge of current systems' software, protocols, and standards.
- Experience working with of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols.
- Previous experience in cybersecurity principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management
- Previous customer service experience in IT or other industries.
Salary Description
$65,000 - $85,000 per year. This is a good faith estimate based on available market data. Final offers depend on experience, skills, and qualifications.
