Job Summary:
Manages leaders and employees that are responsible for development projects, development teams and application support functions.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee enterprise-wide application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of application programs.
- Maximize staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs.
- Analyze and provide strategy regarding applications to ensure that all systems that are developed, meet business needs and specifications.
- Monitor and maintain adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Direct management for a team of 3 IT Managers and a Solution Lead; indirect management of a global team of 200-250 people
- Delivery to MOM roadmap (3 years into a 6-year program)
- Responsible for the vision alignment to business partners and conveying that vision to team
- Responsible for establishing and delivering to major and minor release dates across a large complex portfolio
- Customer relationship management
- Manage budget to plan
- Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
What You Will Have:

Talent Management: Knowledge of the critical competencies required to achieve intended results; ability to generate consistent approaches for hiring, selection, retaining and leveraging talent across the organization.
Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
Matrix Management: Understanding of the importance of being able to leverage external resources when required and ability to build and use effective working relationships within own department and across department, functional, and geographic reporting lines.
Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).
Considerations For Top Candidates:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field OR Equivalent working experience
- Experience working with onshore/offshore team model
- 3+ years' experience leading enterprise development / deployment teams
- Direct development and/or deployment experience with Salesforce applications
- Domain expert in business applications
- Supply chain and sales expertise
- Expertise with data domains
- Demonstrated ability to empower teams
- Good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar's organization
