Knowledge and Skills Required
- PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience with secondary data research (e.g., clinical, administrative, registry, or EHR data) and clinical research study design/data analysis.
- Experience in an academic medical center, health system, or clinical research environment preferred.
- Peer-reviewed scientific publication and grant proposal writing track record required.
- Project management experience, including planning, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and development of standard operating procedures.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Columbus, OH region.

Job Description:
- Designs experiments, develops protocols, and conducts independent research. Develops project aims, objectives, and experimental techniques.
- Supervises and mentors junior research staff and students. Trains and supervises technical support staff in performing specific techniques essential to carrying out the research program.
- Records and analyzes data generated by the research study. Develops hypotheses for further investigation from the results of the studies performed.
- Independently prepares scientific and technical papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Presents findings at local and national research forums. Writes first drafts of grant proposals and manuscripts. May be CO-PI on grant applications.
- Collaborates with other ongoing research efforts either at NCH or at The Ohio State University.
- Prepares to submit proposals to and obtain funding from external granting agencies.

Skills Required
