IT Project Manager

Newton, MA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, coordinate, execute, and oversee completion of specific IT projects ensuring consistency with strategy and goals.

  • Plan, initiate, and manage IT projects, including leading and guiding the work of technical employees, working cross-functionally with project team members, and managing day-to-day operational aspects of technical projects.

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and ultimately create project work plans.

  • Plan and schedule IT project timelines and meetings. 

  • Monitor IT project statuses and review technical project components and identify, adjust, and communicate downstream impacts of project changes, minimizing business exposure and risks.

  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities to cross-functional project team members.

  • Function as a global liaison for the IT function, keeping abreast of initiatives to avoid overlapping efforts. 

  • Apply IT project methodologies and enforce project standards. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. 

  • Prepare engagement reviews and implement quality assurance procedures.  Applying knowledge of project management software and technical competency, work with software programs to guide team members. 

  • Ensure feedback from key business owners is incorporated into technical functional specifications, process flow diagrams, and project plans.

  • Facilitate understanding of technical requirements on IT projects and resolve and escalate technical issues in a timely fashion.

  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to senior leadership, and technical and software changes to the team, through regular status meetings. 

  • Manage all phases of the project life cycle, including running project prioritization meetings, leading post-installation project post-mortem meetings, maintaining meeting deadlines, and delivering projects on budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or a related field and five years of experience identifying project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing contingency plans.

  • Experience must include three years managing all phases of the project life cycle including defining project scope, building project plans, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Experience must include two years each of the following: project management methodologies Agile, SCRUM, and Waterfall to prioritize and roll out features; and project management and collaboration tools Confluence, JIRA, MS Project, or Azure DevOps.

  • Experience must include one year of supporting identity and access management projects. Experience may be gained concurrently.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $143,000 - $148,000. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
