Position Summary:
As an IT Program Manager, you will be accountable for directing and managing complex, large scale programs/projects from beginning to end, including development of delivery strategies and the cross-functional coordination necessary to drive those programs to success. This includes identifying the KPIs for the program, development of the program roadmap and management of the program related projects. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the overall project plans, milestones and deliverables and reporting on program status to senior leadership and stakeholders. You will be working side by side with senior management across the BJs organization, including DC Operations, Transportation, Merchandising, Finance Management, and other cross functional partners.
The IT Program Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day project activities, including but not limited to:
- Develop strategies and approaches for complex projects or programs to ensure integration across BJ’s.
- Balancing and managing scope, time, and resources for a multi-disciplined project team(s) to achieve desired results.
- Identify resource requirements including people, organizations, financial, hardware, software and services for multiple projects or a program.
- Provide program management direction and leadership to other project manager(s) and vendor(s)
- Managing and actively driving resolution of issues (escalate issues early, drive open issues to resolution and deliver on-time) and when necessary, devise contingency and mitigation plans.
- Facilitate and communicate resolution to complex, strategic issues with executive level management.
- Lead discovery activities with business partners at all levels to understand business objectives, assumptions and constraints related to a solution opportunity.
- Prepare initial analysis and facilitation approach for capturing large-scale and complex requirements.
- Drive interaction with project team and management to identify and document benefits, costs and risks associated with solution alternatives.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive communications plans for key projects and programs.
- Prepare and deliver effective, timely, meaningful communications (written and verbal) throughout the project lifecycle to project participants, senior leadership, and the organization.
- Define project success criteria and disseminate these to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, consistent, and meaningful manner.
- Collaborate with Finance to run the planning and budgeting process of project(s) through the year and asses monthly.
- Manage the budget and plans on a regular basis and escalate and problem solve where needed.
- Manage and maintain standard outputs created by teams for the budgeting and planning process.
- Rigorously manage ongoing work against timelines, spend, and value that is being delivered on a regular basis and cascade reporting across all levels of the organization.
- Build, develop, and grow internal and external business relationships.
- Manage stakeholder relationships within and outside of technology serving as the face of technology project management.
- Keep pace with emerging project and program management trends and best practices.
- Ensure project(s) & project documentations meet all audit and compliance requirements.
- Build and communicate weekly status reports representing project metrics and RAID items.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Project/Program Management experience on multiple technical programs and working knowledge of agile & waterfall methodologies and tools.
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related discipline
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a complex landscape and present to all levels of senior management.
- Strong capability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and leaders without authority.
- Proven IT program management ability to create, execute and maintain complex programs across a large organization with a track record of delivering results.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred/desired
- Experience in Supply Chain programs / projects in a retail environment.
- Experience with implementation of Blue Yonder/Manhattan or any other 3rd party supply chain solutions and software.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $131,000.00.
