To provide administrative and executive oversight of the Unit’s activities, implement plans agreed upon with the Information Systems Department at Head Office, and participate in managing the establishment and development of the infrastructure required for the Bank’s information systems, including software, networks, and hardware. The role also oversees the implementation of the Bank’s information technology policies and objectives by monitoring the preparation of plans related to computerization and automation of operations, developing an integrated information network within the Bank, enhancing organizational digital knowledge, and ensuring the readiness, efficiency, and continuous development of systems and applications in line with technological advancements.
Responsibilities- Participate in developing policies and procedures for the Information Systems Unit – Iraq Branch, in line with the Bank’s direction in this field, and submit them to the Information Systems Department at Head Office.
- Participate in setting the strategy and annual objectives of the Information Systems Unit – Iraq Branch in coordination with the Executive Director of the Information Systems Department at Head Office and the Chief Executive Officer – Iraq Branches.
- Implement the approved strategy and annual objectives agreed upon with the Information Systems Department at Head Office and the CEO – Iraq Branches, within the agreed budget allocations.
- Set objectives for subordinate staff based on the approved annual plan; provide administrative and operational supervision of the Unit and its employees; ensure work is performed efficiently and accurately; evaluate employee performance; and develop staff capabilities to enhance service quality.
- Participate in identifying and selecting hardware, services, and systems used by the Bank; supervise and evaluate proposals and tenders submitted by external parties; conduct financial and technical analyses; provide recommendations; and forward them to the Information Systems Department at Head Office for review and submission to the authorized body or relevant committee.
- Supervise and ensure that backup copies of information and data related to systems used within the Regional Management/Iraq Branch are regularly maintained to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor current and future business and user requirements.
- Coordinate with the Information Systems Department at Head Office to develop information systems at the Iraq Branch and oversee the establishment and development of the infrastructure required for managing the Bank’s information systems.
- Periodically verify the effectiveness, integrity, continuity, and operational readiness of all information systems used by the Bank, including communication systems and operating systems within the Regional Management scope, and assess their ability to meet user requirements through the database documenting all reported faults and issues.
- Forward observations and feedback from departments/divisions regarding automated systems to the Central Operations and International Trade Unit – Iraq Branch, as applicable, for review and onward submission to the Central Operations Department at Head Office.
- Analyze and prepare reports on faults affecting communication systems, information systems, and ATMs, including corrective actions and root causes, and coordinate with the Information Systems Department at Head Office regarding such matters.
- Ensure continuous awareness of developments in information systems to provide the most suitable solutions, systems, and services; ensure adherence to the latest confidentiality, security, and protection standards for information systems, devices, and networks to safeguard the Bank’s interests, in coordination with the Information Systems Department at Head Office.
- Ensure that daily operations are conducted in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and delegated authorities.
- Review executive and control reports, as well as internal and external audit reports according to their periodic schedules, and take the necessary actions in line with approved procedures to ensure proper execution of work and effective operational control.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial position.
