The IT Intern will work closely with the IT Officer and other relevant colleagues for six months. The internship is designed to provide practical experience that complements university studies in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering and Management Information Systems or related fields.
Utilizes current company-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments. Note: Specific activities vary by assignment. A wide range of college majors are considered based on specific needs of department such as: Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Health, Purchasing, Public Administration, Community Development and Communications.
Skills Gained and Learning Opportunities:
Practical experience providing first-level IT support in a professional office environment.
Hands-on exposure to computer hardware, Windows operating systems, software installation, printers, and common peripherals.
Familiar with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Practical understanding of LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and basic network troubleshooting.
Assist with IT asset inventory, equipment issuance and return, recordkeeping, and stock verification.

Shadowing, mentoring, and on-the-job training with IT professionals.
Anticipated Project(s) and Assignment Details:
The intern may contribute to IT operational and project activities under the direction of the supervisor in the following ways:IT Operations Support:
Assist employees with basic computer, software, printer, email, meeting-room equipment, and connectivity issues, and escalate unresolved incidents to the supervisor.
Support the setup, installation, configuration, update, and maintenance of approved computers, operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including workstation preparation, equipment handover or return, and approved user-account requests.
Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Contribute to basic troubleshooting of LAN, Wi-Fi, internet, and network connections.
Assist in maintaining the IT asset register, labeling equipment, recording issuance and return, checking inventory, and organizing IT storage areas.
Involve in the prepare or update user guides, troubleshooting notes, standard operating procedures, inventory lists, and other IT documentation.
Project Activities Support:
Support the project and collaborate with the EMCE/RCCE team in developing and formatting educational materials, including basic layout, image preparation, file organization, and coordination of final digital files.
Work with procurement teams, printing house for quality checks of educational material
Assist the project and EMCE/RCCE team with social media campaign activities, assist with digital content production, and support branding compliant.
Provide technical and logistical support for Project photo-shooting activities, including equipment preparation, file transfer, photo selection support, image naming, secure storage, backup, and organization of approved photographs.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year university student in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or within one year of graduation.
Able to commit to a six-month internship and follow the organization’s regular work schedule.
Basic knowledge of Windows, computer hardware, software installation, Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365, email, and networking concepts.
Interest in IT support, digital communications, data systems, information management, or related technology areas.
Basic graphic design, photography, social media, databases, or DHIS2 exposure is an advantage but not required.
Responsible, well-organized, eager to learn, attentive to detail, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Good analytical, troubleshooting, customer-service, communication, and time-management skills.
Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in Khmer and English.
Typical Physical Demands:
Office-based work environment, with occasional movement between workstations, meeting rooms, project activities, and IT server room.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer regularly, and participate in approved photo-shooting or event activities.
Ability to safely move or lift common IT or media equipment weighing up to approximately 5lbs, with assistance when required.
Equipment and IT Access to be provided:
Laptop and standard workplace accessories.
Approved access to Microsoft 365, organizational email, IT support tools and relevant documentation based on assigned responsibilities.
Access to approved camera, media, presentation, printer, copier, or meeting-room equipment when required.
Travel Requirements:
Occasionally approved local travel for project activities, events, or photo shoots may be required in accordance with organizational policy.
