IT Intern *PC 1496

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Gaithersburg, MD. The role requires 40 hours per week, from September 2026 to March 2027. Candidates requiring relocation will not be considered for the position.

Your Role: 

As an intern with the Miltenyi Biotec team, you will have the opportunity to support the IT team by assisting with AI-related projects and initiatives, including testing and evaluating AI tools and applications, helping document and organize AI/automation workflows, and supporting data preparation and cleanup for AI models and systems. You will assist with maintaining IT documentation related to AI systems, help troubleshoot and monitor AI-driven tools, and support the integration of AI solutions into existing business processes. This position will allow you to interact with many different departments and individuals within the company. You will be working closely with IT, Data, and Business teams and will learn about the practical application of AI technologies within a manufacturing and life sciences environment, as well as the day-to-day operations of an enterprise IT department. Overall, your particular skillset and efforts will drive Miltenyi Biotec's continuing business success. 

Requirements: 

• Currently possess or are working to acquire an associate degree or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. 

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, tools, or platforms (e.g., large language models, automation tools, Python, or similar) preferred. 

• Ability to operate a computer with Windows™ operating system, Outlook™ email, internet, and basic MS Office™ products. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in learning how AI technologies are applied in a business setting.

Work Environment: 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in an office environment.

The anticipated base salary range has been established at $25/hour.  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.  In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan.  All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
