Position Overview 

Vantage is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Global Infrastructure Team, supporting critical enterprise infrastructure across EMEA and the wider global organisation. 
 
This role combines hands-on technical support, project delivery, and continuous improvement across VMware, Microsoft Azure, Linux, Windows Server, networking, and storage environments. 

 

As a key member of the team, you will design, deploy, maintain, and optimise the core systems that underpin our business operations.  
Working under the guidance of the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will help deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network, compute, storage, and virtualization solutions.  
 

You will use your technical expertise to resolve complex issues, contribute to infrastructure projects and work closely with IT peers and business stakeholders to ensure our systems meet organisational standards for performance, availability, and security. 

 

In addition to designing and implementing infrastructure solutions, analysing and troubleshooting systems, managing upgrades and enhancements, and supporting the successful execution of infrastructure projects, you will provide technical guidance to junior engineers, contribute to project planning, and ensure work is delivered in line with company policies, ITIL-based processes, and agreed service levels. 

 

By staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, particularly in Linux administration, Microsoft 365, automation, and infrastructure management, you will help drive innovation and the ongoing evolution of Vantage’s global IT infrastructure. 

 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Implement, configure, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure platforms including: VMware, Microsoft Azure, Linux, Servers, Storage Platforms, Networking, Cloud Services 

  • Support infrastructure operations across multiple locations and customer-facing hybrid environments.  

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues. 

  • Support upgrades, patching, and configuration changes. 

  • Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security. 

  • Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures. 

  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning. 

  • Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions. 

  • Follow security, compliance, and governance requirements 

  • Participate in an on-call support rota when required. 

  • Travel required is expected to be 5%, but may be higher at times depending on infrastructure support and project needs.

 

Required Skill & Experience 
  • Fluent English skills (written and spoken) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent professional experience 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in: 
    - Infrastructure Engineering
    - Systems Administration
    - Technical Support 

  • Strong knowledge of:  
    - Compute and server platforms 
    - Storage technologies 
    - Virtualisation - VMware
    - Cloud platforms – Microsoft Azure 
    - Networking 

  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. 

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders. 

  • Comfortable working in a global environment across different regions
