JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the VP of Hospital Services, the IT Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all information system services, application systems, networks, computer systems, and related applications. This includes direct supervision and management of information services staff including the performance of personnel duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all daily operations of the information services and technology organization, including: help desk; data center operations, network and tele-communications operations, daily coordination with technology and application vendors; and end-user devices and computers.

Directly supervise Information Technology staff.

  • This includes Service Desk, Application and Systems Analysts/Admin supporting them in the effective execution of their job responsibilities.
  • The IT manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities and duties in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
  • Oversees network and data center operations, including: regulatory compliance; disaster planning & business continuity; remote system access & authorization; data integrity, system backup and recovery procedures; and required technology and application system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Works closely with management on network, hardware and application project requirements. Reviews and evaluates hardware and software alternatives and recommends solutions or options.
  • Evaluates, diagnoses and resolves information services-related operational problems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of system hardware, networks and software systems implemented; strives to assess near term opportunities for improvement and required migrations.
  • Strives to establish and maintain good working relationships, positive intra / inter-departmental communications, as well as effective relationships with outside IT service providers.
  • Works to develop and justify annual budget requirements and ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested by the organization. To support the overall needs of the department, and in accordance with Mountain View Hospitals Mission, Vision, Shared Values, and practices.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Networking Technologies related field or 10 years working in a directly related field.
  • 5+ years in IT management and support of healthcare information systems.
  • 5+ years working knowledge of client, network, server, virtualization, database, data storage, telco and line of business systems.
  • 5+ years leading and managing IT projects.
  • 5+ Years with IT services performance metrics and benchmarking.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and understanding of the integration of information systems as it relates to the healthcare field.
  • College Statistics
  • Critical thinking. Time-sensitive analytical and problem-solving skills.

Skills Required

  • Four-year degree in networking technologies or a related field, or 10 years of directly related experience
  • At least five years of IT management and support experience with healthcare information systems
  • At least five years of working knowledge of client, network, server, virtualization, database, data storage, telecommunications, and line-of-business systems
  • At least five years leading and managing IT projects
  • At least five years of experience with IT services performance metrics and benchmarking
  • Knowledge of information systems integration in healthcare
  • College statistics
  • Critical thinking and time-sensitive analytical and problem-solving skills
