IT Director Business Platforms

As IT Director Business Platforms at KPN, you will shape the technology platforms that support the commercial and operational processes of millions of customers. This is a unique opportunity to lead a large-scale transformation of our Business Support Systems (BSS) landscape and play a key role in the future of KPN.

You will be responsible for a substantial domain consisting of approximately 50 internal employees and 250 external professionals. Working at executive level, you will drive strategy, innovation and operational excellence across critical business platforms. Your scope includes the future development of CRM, Revenue Management, Order Management and Partner Management capabilities. Combining strategic leadership with meaningful impact and significant growth opportunities, this role offers the chance to make a lasting contribution to KPN’s digital transformation journey.

You are responsible for the strategy, continuity and further development of the business-critical platforms that support KPN’s commercial and operational processes. Together with your teams, you ensure a stable, scalable and future-ready technology landscape that enables KPN’s ambitions. You translate business objectives into a clear platform and technology roadmap and lead the modernization of the BSS landscape. In doing so, you drive operational excellence, foster innovation and ensure strong collaboration between business stakeholders, product organizations, technology partners and delivery teams. You have end-to-end accountability for a significant IT portfolio, substantial investment budgets and the performance of business-critical platforms.

In this role, you will:

• Define and execute the multi-year strategy for Business Platform Excellence
• Lead the modernization, standardization and simplification of the BSS landscape
• Ensure the availability, performance and continuity of business-critical platforms
• Drive portfolio, investment and budget management across the domain
• Build teams, capabilities and a culture of ownership, innovation and collaboration

The Business Platform Excellence domain consists of experienced professionals who work every day on the technological backbone of KPN. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams where business, technology, data and product development come together. The team is built on collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement, while providing ample opportunity for innovation and personal growth.

You are a strategic leader with a proven track record of delivering complex transformation programs. You are equally comfortable operating at executive level as you are driving execution, and you know how to bring people together around a shared vision. You combine a results-driven mindset with inclusive leadership and a strong focus on collaboration. Decisive, customer-focused and an excellent communicator, you see change as an opportunity to advance people, processes and technology.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

• A Master's degree or equivalent level of thinking and working
• At least 10 years of experience in senior IT leadership roles within complex organizations
• Proven experience leading digital transformation, platform modernization and large-scale IT environments
• Experience managing portfolios, budgets and strategic vendor relationships at executive level
• Strong stakeholder management skills and a demonstrated ability to connect business and technology

• An annual vitality budget of €1,250 to support your wellbeing, sports activities, relaxation and personal development. In addition, you can spend up to €250 on sports clothing or equipment and purchase a bicycle every three years through this budget
• If your pensionable salary exceeds the annually determined pension threshold, you will receive a monthly gross pension allowance of 11% on the amount above this limit. You can also participate voluntarily in a supplementary net pension scheme
