Job Summary: 

ECI is seeking a Data & AI Analytics Intern for Summer 2027 to support the Information Technology organization. The intern will gain practical experience applying Glean and other AI tools to real-world business challenges, including identifying, testing, documenting, and presenting AI use cases. The role will also provide exposure to data analytics, reporting, business systems, and technology initiatives in an IT environment, along with mentorship from experienced IT professionals.

The intern will communicate analytical and AI-related findings to business audiences, network with ECI employees, and learn about career paths in technology, analytics, and AI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use Glean to research and support a variety of AI business use cases across ECI.
  • Help identify opportunities where AI-powered search, knowledge discovery, summarization, and workflow support can improve business processes.
  • Develop, test, and refine prompts, search approaches, and use-case workflows in Glean.
  • Evaluate the quality, usefulness, accuracy, and usability of AI-generated results.
  • Collect, clean, organize, and validate data from business and IT systems.
  • Assist with developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Support reporting and analytics initiatives using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Document AI use cases, data sources, prompts, processes, assumptions, results, and recommendations.
  • Assist with data-quality reviews and help identify opportunities to improve information structure and accessibility.
  • Translate business questions into clear analytical and AI-use-case requirements.
  • Present findings, demonstrations, and recommendations to IT and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, networking events, and the summer intern presentation program.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

 The Ideal Candidate:

  • Will be an actively enrolled rising senior working toward a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Must have coursework or experience in data analysis, statistics, databases, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, or data visualization.
  • Must have a strong interest in generative AI, emerging technologies, and AI tools such as Glean.
  • Must be familiar with Excel and Power BI; experience with SQL, Python, Microsoft Fabric, prompt engineering, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to critically evaluate information and recognize potential limitations or errors in AI-generated results.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Must be able to handle confidential company information appropriately.
