Job Title: IT Data Platform Architect
Location: Krakow (3 days a week from office)
Job Description:
The IT Data Platform Architect plays a key role in designing, evolving, and operating scalable cloud-based data platforms that enable analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases across the organization. The role focuses on building resilient, secure, and automated data platforms rather than single-tool expertise.
Working closely with engineering, analytics, security, and business teams, this position drives end-to-end platform design, from architecture definition through implementation and operational maturity, with a strong emphasis on DevOps practices and cloud-native principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve cloud-based data platforms enabling analytics, BI, and data-driven use cases
- Define and guide end-to-end data flows across ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption layers
- Partner with engineering, analytics, and business teams to translate data needs into scalable platform solutions
- Establish and promote DevOps, CI/CD, and automation standards for data platforms
- Ensure platform architectures meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct architecture reviews, identify gaps, and recommend improvements aligned with future needs
- Research emerging data and cloud technologies and drive continuous platform modernization
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a corporate environment, including a proven track record in data warehouse architecture, ETL/ELT (extract, transform, load) processes, and a strong understanding of BI and reporting platforms.
- Strong experience in data platform or cloud architecture within enterprise environments
- Hands-on knowledge of modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, cloud data lakes, lakehouse patterns)
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, Data Observability and orchestration
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Teradata, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of data security, governance, and lifecycle management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
