Position Overview:  

BBG (Brunswick Boat Group), a division of Brunswick Corporation, is looking to recruit a highly energized IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM).  BBG features many of the most recognizable brands (Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Lund, etc.) in the recreational boat industry and leads the way in innovation, technology, and consumer satisfaction.  Significant growth (organic and acquisition) offers a unique, fun and rewarding work environment that fosters individual growth and rewards performance.  

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will serve as a valued member of the IT Business Alignment team, and will contribute/connect to our Brunswick Enterprise IT functional teams.  They provide thought leadership on industry trends and innovation opportunities within their respective business areas, and as appropriate, turn these into IT projects that deliver future capabilities.  The role ensures strategic and tactical alignment between our business organization (functional areas) and the IT organization.  

The BRM will help act as the primary point of contact for their respective business partners for the intake of new IT capability requests, the escalation for issues in current capabilities, IT-related budgeting, and the achievement of mutual IT and business-related goals. The BRM is the IT planning lead for their business partner(s) and along with the respective Functional Area Manager is the conduit through which business priorities and needs are communicated and incorporated within the overall IT & PMO plans. 

Equally important, the BRM works across the IT organization to ensure their business partner’s unique needs are incorporated in IT standards and enterprise solutions.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demand stewardship and management of the system portfolio including the services provided to the customer with periodic review.
  • Understanding and driving alignment between the business and IT strategies.  In short, serves as a “trusted advisor” to the business.
  • Thought leader around the application of information technology to business processes and challenges.
  • Attends designated partner meetings and may shadow Team Members
  • Develops and maintains the IT strategy for their area of responsibility; while ensuring it aligns with the overall IT strategy (including other divisional organizations)
  • Customer service focused with the ability to actively listen, elicit information, comprehend issues/needs, and recommend solutions
  • Navigating the IT organization on behalf of the business to resolve issues, concerns or problems.
  • Ability to lead and manage under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty.   
  • Owns IT projects activities from ideation to project manager assignment.   Participates through project implementation.  
  • Works across IT to understand new technology trends and forecast future IT infrastructure requirements.
  • Provides alternative solutions, and process improvement ideas to stakeholders
  • Works with leadership on annual IT budgets and forecasts as they relate to their function.
  • Creates and manages an actionable roadmap that outlines what IT is expected to deliver.
  • Works with business partners to develop cost/benefit analysis and business cases
  • Ensures that the business benefits associated with IT projects are quantified and realized post-project.
  • Leads and participates in continuous improvement activities.

 AM I QUALIFIED TO BE IT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP MANAGER?

  • Effective at building good working relationships with business partners and project team members in a matrix organization. Encourages strong partnerships with our business partners and other technology team members. Resolves conflicts to promote forward thinking solutions.
  • A successful track record in deploying enterprise technical solutions, including documenting/designing business processes, performing business analysis and requirements definition, building solutions, and handling change management activities during implementation.
  • Confident, professional, and effective presenting and interacting with senior management.  Exhibits a high tolerance for rapid change and manages change effectively
  • Strong organizational skills including good time management, prioritizing tasks, estimating activities, and meeting deadlines. Must effectively prioritize own work, and the work of their team.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and with a strong desire to learn and share information with others.
  • Review project status with project managers and allocate resources appropriately. Manage individual and team workload to deliver to agreed release milestones.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Experience/Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business domain, Computer Science, or related field or industry experience, master’s degree (MIS), or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of IT solutions experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with IT solution design/development teams (internal or external).
  • 3+ years of experience working within a matrixed organization
  • Experience in operations software applications with knowledge of quality and engineering applications/processes/practices
  • Experience working with third parties to enhance/enable delivery for the business

Preferred:

  • Knowledge or awareness of EQMS (QAD) and other quality systems
  • Knowledge or awareness TeamCenter (Siemens) and other engineering systems
  • Modern ERP systems (such as Oracle Fusion or Dynamics 365)
  • Certifications such as: BRMP, PMP, Six Sigma, ITIL
  • IT project experience across multiple industries, markets, and/or functional areas.
  • MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree

The hiring range for this position is $86,500-$126,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
