Job Purpose 

The IT Business Analyst serves as a people‑focused technology partner who helps connect business teams with Information Technology by gathering, documenting, and organizing business needs. This role exists to ensure stakeholders feel heard and supported while enabling IT teams to clearly understand, prioritize, and act on business requests. The IT Business Analyst supports effective communication, project coordination, and operational alignment across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

Essential Duties 

  • Meet regularly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand challenges, clarify goals, and identify IT support needs. 

  • Ask thoughtful questions to uncover underlying business problems and desired outcomes. 

  • Document business requirements, process details, project needs, decisions, and follow‑up items in a clear, organized, and professional manner. 

  • Act as a bridge between business teams and IT by translating stakeholder needs into practical, actionable requests. 

  • Track open questions, priorities, timelines, dependencies, and next steps to help ensure requests and projects continue moving forward. 

  • Support stakeholder communication by summarizing discussions, confirming understanding, and maintaining documentation accuracy. 

Other Functions 

  • Assist with process improvement initiatives related to documentation, communication, or intake workflows. 

  • Support meetings, planning sessions, or project coordination activities as needed. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support operational and business needs. 

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

Skills and Abilities 

Required: 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. 

  • Excellent organization and documentation skills, including the ability to capture requirements, summarize conversations, and manage follow‑up items accurately. 

  • Professional demeanor with a strong focus on stakeholder support and service. 

  • Basic understanding of technology concepts with the ability to communicate business needs clearly. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience working as a liaison between business teams and IT or technical groups. 

  • Familiarity with structured requirements gathering or business analysis practices. 

Work Experience Requirements 

Required: 

  • Experience working in a business, administrative, operations, or support role involving coordination, documentation, or stakeholder interaction. 

Preferred: 

  • Prior experience in an IT Business Analyst, Project Coordinator, or similar role. 

Education Requirements 

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field. 

License and Certification Requirements 

Preferred: 

  • Business analysis or process documentation training or certification. 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions 

Office 

This position operates in an office environment and routinely requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer and other standard office equipment, communicate verbally and in writing, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
