The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented IT Business Analyst to serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and technology teams. In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives, optimize business processes, and ensure solutions align with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate combines analytical skills, business acumen, financial knowledge, and technical expertise with strong communication skills and extensive experience gathering requirements in a Agile environment. Business Analysts applying for this role need to have experience supporting end users and their business processes in Dynamics 365 F&O General Ledger / AP / ExFlow AP or Certinia Quote to Order / Project Scope to Closure / Forecasting & RevRec / Personas.
Travel Requirements:
This is a remote role (situated within the Continental US) with associated travel of 5%.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
- Partner with Solution Architects, Developers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are accurately implemented.
- Conduct gap analysis, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for proposed changes.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirements gathering sessions.
- Analyze existing business processes and recommend enhancements for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing test scenarios, tracking defects, and ensuring issues are resolved.
- Prepare documentation such as business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications, and workflow diagrams.
- Provide ongoing support for systems, processes, and applications post-implementation.
Required Skills and Professional Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in BA / BS in Computer Science, Business, MIS) or the equivalent work experience and / or military experience
- 3+ years of experience working as an adept business analyst on software development teams
- Strong working knowledge with SQL, Salesforce, Power BI, and technical writing
- Advanced in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio / LucidChart
- Proficient+ in agile software development methodologies and Board management, e.g. AzureDevops & Jira
- Strong understanding of project management
- Experience with large implementations / third party vendor tools / integrating with ERP, CRM, PSA, and Portal tools
- 2-4 years' experience with Dynamics 365 F&O General Ledger / AP / ExFlow AP or Certinia Quote to Order / Project Scope to Closure / Forecasting & RevRec / Personas
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving capabilities
- Skilled in business process modeling, requirements elicitation, and gap analysis
- Ability to simplify complex systems and processes, providing insights to support strategic decision-making
- Proven capacity to manage multiple concurrent work streams and shifting priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation abilities, including creating and delivering impactful materials
- Skilled at conducting interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to surface essential requirements
