Information Systems Security Officer

Location: Fort Belvoir, VA

Focus: Supporting CPE C2IN, PM Integrated Enterprise Network (PM IEN)

Clearance: DoD Secret minimum

Salary: 120K-170K Annual; Commensurate with education/experience

Core Responsibilities

ISSO Information System Security Officer – hand on cybersecurity professional responsible for maintaining the day-to-day security posture, compliance and operational controls for IT systems; IP networks, server-based solutions, and IT infrastructure. Must understand DOW policy and eMASS.

Provide ISSO architecture support, certification and accreditation processes and support to security scans and other test events. Provide IA design, development and implementation support in identity and access management, cyber situational understanding, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), defensive cyber infrastructure and operations. Collaborate with the engineering team for design and implementation to ensure that RMF subsystems comply with The Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) provisions and DoD and Army Polices and Regulations for operational readiness. Prepare all documentation that are required by the individual network Authorization Official (AO) for Authority to Operate (ATO) to their networks. Perform information assurance and cybersecurity monitoring and review reporting to ensure the compliance to include the development and maintenance of POA&M documents in accordance with the RMF A&A continuous monitoring process.

Key Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related scientific or technical discipline.

Experience: A Minimum of 5 years of working experience directly related to DoD cybersecurity Authorization or cybersecurity engineering activities. Demonstrated experience, and familiarity with DoD and Army Cybersecurity Polices and Regulations, and Authorization processes to include the planning and execution of test events. Minimum CISSP, CISM, CAP, CeH or equivalent certification

Substitutions: BS can be substituted with additional 5 years of related Information Assurance experience and CISSP, CISM, CAP, CeH or equivalent certifications

Skills Required

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to DoD cybersecurity authorization or cybersecurity engineering activities
  • Experience with DoD and Army cybersecurity policies, regulations, authorization processes, and planning and executing test events
  • CISSP, CISM, CAP, CEH, or equivalent certification
  • Additional 5 years of related Information Assurance experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree, along with the required certification
