A brief overview
Participate in design, implementation, and maintenance of investment reporting to ensure timely, accurate, meaningful, and cost-effective analytics and ad hoc reporting requests. Participate in execution of process enhancements and/or tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of data quality and investment reporting, and provide other project support to the team.
What you will do
Performs analysis of complex investment data to validate data used for reporting; identify areas for process improvement or corrections if needed
Conduct research into the availability and reliability of data and participate in making enhancements to processes to improve data quality
Lead and participate in enhancement of existing risk/performance reports and development of new ones to achieve timely and impactful reporting
Perform complex reporting functions in order to produce and maintain daily, month-end, quarter-end, semi-annual, and annual investment reports for the RGA Board of Directors, various Investment Committees, business units, and other legal entities as requested, including ad hoc reporting requests. Maintain supporting documentation and historical reports
Participate in the development of reporting policies, procedures, standards, and controls. Investigate and make recommendations on report consolidation, standardization, and optimization across all investment reports
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Investments front, middle, and back office as well as with RGA corporate partners (ie, IT, Accounting, Structured Finance, etc)
Assist in department projects as needed, including but not limited to audit requests, due diligence requests, Investor Relations requests, and ad hoc report requests
Act as backup for the other members of the Investment Reporting team
Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent related experience
Minimum 3+ years' experience in investments and/or demonstrable understanding of fixed income investing
Verbal and written Japanese and English language skills is required (fluent or business proficiency)
CFA, FLMI, FFSI, or other relevant professional accreditation would be an added advantage
Insurance / Reinsurance industry knowledge
Basic Microsoft Word skills and advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and database query and reporting skills
Ability to design and develop complex investment reports that are meaningful and well received by all stakeholders
Experience with automation and process improvement for investment processes
Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
Intermediate investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Strong organizational, interpersonal skills with the ability to work with associates of all levels
Advanced ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
Ability to work well individually with little supervision as well as within a team
Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
Basic negotiating and persuasion skills
