The Opportunity
The role will work closely with the team located in New York, and Sydney to ensure operational coverage across all time zones and geographies. The key focus of the role is to support our global trading desks over the trade life cycle, provide effective day-to-day exception management, completion of reconciliations, ensuring the timeliness of valuations.

Responsibilities:
- To work collaboratively with the trade desks globally to ensure GI’s trade life cycle is supported across all locations and time zones in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure transactional activity and data are appropriately processed, recorded, and maintained in an accurate, efficient, timely, scalable, and controlled environment across all of QBE's investment portfolios and geographies.
- Contributes to the effective day-to-day relationship management and oversight of external service providers, partners, and data vendors to ensure services of the highest standards are received by GI.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure user requirements are met, and to facilitate efficient operational workflow and data management.
- Proactively provides internal and external stakeholders with required or requested technical investment operational expertise and support over the trade life cycle.
- Demonstrable experience using / administering Investment Systems, in particular Aladdin, Dimension, CTM, eFront & Bloomberg focusing on functional correctness within systems ensuring all information is up to date – security setup, integration flows and reconciliations, system queries and workflow maintenance.
- Contributes to scheduling and management of workload to ensure that system functionality and availability meets user requirements, and outputs are delivered within agreed timeframes.
- Designs and implements business solutions that meet stakeholders’ needs and are in line with strategic direction and able to be implemented within agreed scope and timeframe.
- Demonstrates an understanding of stakeholders' perspectives, expectations, and requirements.
- Actively participates in and contributes to GI projects and initiatives which support achievement of business goals.
- End-to-end understanding of data flows and impacts on GI’s processes and systems.
- Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
Work Experience:
Necessary Work Experience includes:
- Some relevant work experience.
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Experience in a similar role in Investment Operations.
- Track record in managing delivery of audit sampling and requests.
- Experience using/administering Investment Systems.
- Focus on functional correctness within systems.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in finance, investments or a related field.
Knowledge
- Very good knowledge of investment instruments (fixed income, equities, ETD’s) for purposes of trade matching, settlement, recording of transactions and related data, (preferably) covering QBE’s global geographies of the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and Australia and NZ.
- Up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of industry standards relevant to role.
- Hands-on knowledge of financial market systems and technology (BlackRock Aladdin, Simcorp Dimension & CTM knowledge desired).
- Good understanding of technology and system lifecycles.
- Good understanding of investment markets and related risk and compliance practices.
- Knowledge of fixed income key metrics (e.g. Duration, Spread Duration, Yield, etc.).
- Knowledge of collective investment schemes (preferred).

- Ability to build effective relationships with senior managers and other key stakeholders.
- Analytical.
- Very good problem-solving skills
- Works effectively within time constraints and is resilient under pressure.

Compensation
Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs
Annual Salary Range: $87,000 - $131,000
