MetLife Investment Management (MIM) is seeking an Investment Business Strategist to join our team. The role will be accountable for meeting a wide array of business needs, as well as partnering with internal stakeholders in Fixed Income and across MIM. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and developing strategies that align with our business goals. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of investment dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business strategies to enhance business performance and achieve long-term growth objectives. Collaborate with senior management to align strategies with overall company goals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial markets, industry trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities that algin with MIM capabilities and threats.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities; design and refine MIM's product offerings to align with clients' needs; Provide support of MIM strategy and growth initiatives, driving product and strategy innovation and best practices across asset classes and regions.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies. Prepare detailed reports on performance, market conditions, and strategic outcomes.
- Collaboration: Partners with Investment Teams, Distribution and Marketing to ensure continuity of messaging, including tracking of relevant feedback and notification of updates.
- Financial Modeling: Create and analyze financial models to assess potential investment, planning and forecasting. Utilize data-driven insights to support strategic initiatives.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in investment strategy, financial analysis, or business development, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies
- Deep understanding of the asset management industry, industry peers, investment channels, and investment products, including experience evaluating managers and strategies against broad market capabilities and client needs.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and professional presence with a demonstrated ability to build relationships.
- Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, including the ability to present recommendations.
Preferred:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
