FundRock NZ Limited is a licensed MIS manager under New Zealand’s Financial Markets Conduct Act.  Through our Fund Hosting business, we issue and manage investment funds in NZ for:

  • offshore investment managers who want to offer PIE-compliant funds to NZ investors, but don’t want to go through the licensing process themselves; and

  • domestic investment managers who want to outsource the issuing and managing of their funds, so they can concentrate on investment management and distribution activities.

Investment Analyst - Investment Management Oversight

The role supports effective investment oversight by coordinating information flows with delegated investment managers and service providers, maintaining oversight registers and documentation, and contributing to monitoring and reporting outputs that are accurate and audit-ready.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain central IMO document repositories (monitoring packs, due diligence files, manager correspondence, evidence folders) to ensure records are complete, version controlled and audit-ready

  • Maintain IMO templates, registers and workpapers to support consistent oversight outputs (e.g., trackers, checklists, evidence logs)

  • Support the preparation of regular fund performance and integrated monitoring packs by gathering inputs (returns, holdings, risk metrics, commentary), completing first-pass checks, and formatting/quality-controlling pack outputs

  • Maintain monitoring calendars, data cut-offs, source logs, and follow-up queries to delegated managers/service providers to resolve missing or inconsistent data

  • Support initial, ongoing and thematic due diligence by coordinating information requests and collecting artefacts (policies, reports, attestations)

  • Assist with the upkeep of Investment Management Agreements (IMAs) and mandate schedules by maintaining a register of key terms, reporting deliverables, renewal dates and change logs

  • Support reviews of investment-related disclosure material (including SIPOs and related investment content) by coordinating updates, managing review workflows, and logging issues for escalation

  • Provide administrative and analytical support for liquidity risk oversight by maintaining liquidity monitoring inputs and trackers, coordinating stress testing inputs from managers/providers, organising contingency planning artefacts, and ensuring  documentation and escalation pathways are followed

  • Support identification and tracking of related-party benefit transactions by maintaining the RPT register and evidence pack, coordinating required notifications/consents/certifications workflows, and escalating exceptions promptly

Skills required:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in funds management, investment operations, custody/registry/administration, or a regulated financial services environment

  • Foundational understanding (or strong willingness to develop knowledge) of NZ Managed Funds/Managed Investment Schemes and delegated investment manager operating models

  • Experience producing or coordinating recurring reporting packs, including data collection and quality control

  • Proficient in Excel and productivity tools; ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly with appropriate review and confidentiality controls

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through on actions and deadlines

  • Proactive and confident liaising with internal stakeholders and external managers/service providers to obtain information

  • Strong collaborative team working style and able to prioritise and manage multiple parallel requests

  • Confident written communicator with disciplined document management practices

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Economics or Accounting (or equivalent experience)

  • Progress toward CFA (or similar) advantageous but not essential
