The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring inventory is processed, organized, and stored properly. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet and must be competent using inventory software and databases. The Inventory Control Specialist may also be required to occasionally use heavy machinery, such as a pallet jack or motorized forklift. The person must be organized, motivated, and capable of using computer applications such as MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

What you will do

  • Coordinate the inflow and outflow of inventory (raw materials and finished goods).
  • Occasionally assist with shipping and receiving, as required.
  • Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored.
  • Release production work orders and compile associated paperwork including pick lists and routing tags.
  • Take the lead in the prioritization of orders within kitting queue
  • Attend bi-weekly Production Review meetings to report on kit queue status.
  • Perform inventory transactions within the company’s ERP system including:
  • Issuing raw materials to kitted work orders,
  • Work order completion transactions (receiving work orders to on-hand status).
  • Purchase Order receipts (back-up),
  • Shipping Transactions (back-up),
  • Cycle Count Adjustments (back-up).
  • Conduct and oversee cycle count operations.
  • Record and present inventory reports and associated KPIs.
  • Work directly with management and supply chain to make them aware of any inventory imbalances that would affect production schedules

What you will need

  • College diploma in Materials Management or related discipline.
  • Certification by the province to operate heavy machinery as needed.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the shift.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds or more, on occasion.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of computer applications.
  • Capable of using a computer to manage inventory records; including transactions to adjust on hand inventory, receive goods, issue, and ship.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Numeracy and Analytical skills.
  • Must follow all health and safety protocols as dictated by the company and government agencies.
