Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product teams, software engineers, and data scientists
- Learn about existing solutions and capabilities and be able to support and maintain them
- Adhere to software best practices including but not limited to utilizing code reviews, automated testing and coverage, SCA, version control, CICD, configuration management, and clear documentation
- Keep fluent in the industry, staying current on emerging ML solutions, technologies, and capabilities in order to produce effective solutions as well as drive new ideas and POCs
- Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, brainstorming sessions, and enjoying creating magical experiences for cast and guest
- Work on tools, processes, reporting, and documentation
- Learn about different teams, functions, and locations, which will help you to understand the complex operation
- Learn how to work with many different personalities and skill levels as they troubleshoot different technology solutions
Basic Qualifications:
- Understanding of software and designing architectures
- Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Software development experience in an object-oriented programming language like Python or Java
- Comfortable working in a team environment using Agile methodologies and Ability to be highly flexible to quickly changing business needs and new technologies
- Ability to follow existing programming and style guidelines to maintain consistent quality of code
- Ability to maintain documentation, procedures, and working instructions for the operations team
- Passionate about data, technology, and challenging the status quo
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and fortitude to get stuff done
- Sees changing the landscape of technology across and organization as a ton of fun!
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Docker
- Familiarity with Machine Learning
- Experience with using ML Frameworks, libraries, and tools, such as TensorFlow, Spark MLlib, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras, etc.
- Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Experience with big data technologies
Required EducationCurrently enrolled undergraduate student studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field at an accredited college/university and returning to school following the internship.
Additional Information:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must provide full work availability
- Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are May/June - August/September 2022. Interns must be fully available for the duration of a 12 week assignment.
- Must provide own transportation to/from work
- Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
