This is a temporary role, where you will learn software development processes and the insurance industry, as well as the CRC Group organization as a whole and the unique way each entity contributes to the overall success of the organization. Interns will gain general application development knowledge, insurance and business insight, experience the organization’s culture, and play a meaningful role in supporting the organization’s goals. You will also develop leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Key Duties

  • Participate in IT projects, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

  • Complete assignments that assist the department in its mission while helping the intern learn more about the corporate environment.

  • Learn about insurance, the industry workflow, and various divisions within the organization as assigned during the internship.

  • Gain analytical, technical, and decision-making skills through formal and informal learning opportunities.

  • Complete all assigned training satisfactorily.

  • Network with leaders, experienced teammates, and other interns to develop lasting professional connections.

  • Receive formal and informal feedback throughout the program.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of at least sophomore-level coursework with strong academic performance leading towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or related field at an accredited college or university. Should include coursework in high level programming language, such as C#, Java or Python.

  • Should have experience in JavaScript; C#.NET or similar programming experience is a plus.

  • Coursework in key programming languages and data structures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and maintain professional composure.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Office.

  • Enthusiastic attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in pursuing application development as a career.

  • Previous work experience or internship.

  • Demonstrated flexibility in managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated leadership aptitude.

This is a hybrid role with 1 day in the office in the Dallas location. Will be flexible depending on class schedule.
