本ポジションでは、ミッションコントロールセンターから宇宙機を運用するためのコマンド手順、テレメトリー表示、運用プロセスなどの作成を担当していただきます。あなたの作業は、手順検証、運用訓練、実運用において、ミッション運用担当者が実施する初期点検やクリティカルなミッション運用を支援するために活用されます。
また、社内外のエンジニアリングチームと連携し、技術設計、各種制約、運用要件を明確かつ実行可能な衛星運用手順へと落とし込んでいただきます。さらに、JiraやGitLab、AIを活用したツールなどを用いて、成果物の効率性、品質、および検証プロセスの向上を推進します。本ポジションは、高度で難易度の高い運用を実現するチームの一員として貢献し、Astroscaleの軌道上サービスおよび宇宙環境保全ミッションを支える、非常にやりがいのある機会です。

• 内容
  様々なチームのエンジニアと連携し、運用設計の議論に参加する
  Pythonを用いて衛星運用手順を策定し、衛星シミュレーターで検証を行う
  地上システムの設計を支援し、衛星の状態監視や異常検知のためのデータ設定を行う
  運用開発プロセスの最適化
  手順やチェックリストが基準に適合しているかを確認する自動チェック機能を導入する
  CI/CDにおけるユニットテスト失敗時の分析および修正を自動化する

  プログラミングの概念 (関数、条件、配列など) の基本的な理解

We are seeking a Satellite Operations Intern to join the core technical team responsible for the preparation, validation, and on-orbit operations of satellite missions. In this role, you will develop command procedures, telemetry displays, and operational processes used to operate spacecraft from the mission control center. Your work will support mission operators during procedure validation, operational training, and live operations, including activities such as initial checkout and critical mission operations.
You will collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to translate technical designs, constraints, and operational requirements into clear and executable satellite operation procedures. In addition, you will leverage tools such as Jira, GitLab, and AI powered utilities to enhance the efficiency, quality, and validation processes of deliverables. This is a unique opportunity to contribute as a member of a team enabling complex and high-stakes operations, supporting Astroscaleʼs in-orbit servicing and space sustainability missions.

• Internship Details
  Group, Position: Systems and Operations Group, Satellite Operations Intern
  Minimum Duration: 1 month ( 3+ months preferred )
  Minimum Daily Working Hours: 4 - 7 hours (flexible) per day
  Office Attendance Frequency: Min. 2days per week in the office
  Having a place of residence in Japan
  *Our internships are available to students enrolled in Japan. We do not provide internship visa support.
  

• Key Responsibilities
  Participate in operation design discussions with engineers from various teams
  Develop satellite operation procedures using Python, and validate them with a satellite simulator.
  Provide design support for ground systems and configure data for satellite status monitoring and anomaly detection.
  Optimize Operation Development
  Add automated checks to ensure procedures and checklists follow standards
  Automate analysis and fixes for CI/CD unit test failures
  
• Required Skills
  Comfortable communicating in English, both written and verbal
  Basic understanding of programming concepts (e.g., functions, conditionals, arrays)
  Ability to learn new technologies and tackle challenging problems
  Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  
• Desired Skills
  Experience with Git, Gitlab or similar configuration control tools
  Experience in coding using Python and other languages
  Familiarity with command-line environments
  Experience using AI agents
  Understanding of satellite operations workflows
