The Analytical Development Biochemistry group, located in Basel, is an integral component of how we innovate healthcare through the invention of differentiated medicines for treating diseases of current unmet medical need. This internship program integrates seamlessly into European-based University degree program and therefore we offer the most talented students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience with us.


The Opportunity

  • Familiarization with a high throughput method Microchip-Gel electrophoresis (MCE), to study protein therapeutics.

  • Familiarization with a CE separation system for quality testing of protein based products.

  • Assessment and further development of the CE-SDS technology for size heterogeneity testing.

  • Studying relevant literature and in house exchange with experts

  • Sharing the obtained knowledge in form of presentations .

  • Comprehensive documentation of experiments and developed methods

  • Become an integral part of the team supporting its mission of technical development of therapeutic candidates

Who You are

  • You are currently enrolled in your Bachelor’s studies within Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related fields and will continue to be enrolled during the entire period of the internship. Alternatively, you are currently enrolled in a Master’s program. Students in their gap year are not eligible.

  • Highly self-motivated and science driven and able to work independently in a team

  • Sociable and have good interpersonal skills

  • Preferably experienced in sample preparation of biomolecules and interested in increasing your theoretical and practical knowledge on this emerging and exciting field of slope spectroscopy and or Chip-Gel electrophorese.

  • An enthusiast of new technologies

  • Fluent in German and English, French is a plus


Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
