About the Role:
The Automation & AI Solutions Intern works directly with technology partners and business leaders to design, build and deploy automation and artificial intelligence solutions used in live deal workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on delivering production-ready tools that improve efficiency, decision-making and execution across the investment banking deal lifecycle. The intern will be embedded within Baird’s Global Investment Banking Technology Solutions team and will partner closely with deal teams and functional groups to identify manual, repetitive processes and translate them into scalable automation and AI-driven solutions.
This is a hybrid internship, offering flexibility to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office and Monday and Friday remote. The intern must be able to work full-time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week.
The Impact You’ll Make:
Identify and automate manual processes across the Global Investment Banking deal lifecycle using Power Automate and Power Apps
Design and build end-to-end workflow solutions that integrate data from systems such as Salesforce, SQL, Snowflake, SharePoint, and Excel
Prototype, test, and deliver AI-enabled use cases using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, ChatGPT, Claude, and Rogo
Build custom Copilot agents and AI-driven tools to support research, document synthesis, data extraction and decision support
Actively participate in discussions with business and technology stakeholders and present delivered solutions and outcomes
Produce clear technical documentation to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability of delivered solutions
What You’ll Bring to Baird:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field
Anticipated graduation date of May 2027 or later
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred)
Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts
Curiosity and enthusiasm for automation and artificial intelligence, with hands-on experimentation using tools such as Power Automate, Copilot, or large language models
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership, prioritize effectively, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
Comfort working collaboratively and in person with cross-functional teams
