International Private Bank - Professionals Lead, China Team and Hong Kong Platform - Vice President
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic, diverse team within the J.P Morgan's Private Banking business. You will be multifaceted; directly leading the China team Professionals who support Client Advisors in all aspects of daily business, and also being responsible for overseeing the wider Hong Kong platform Professional Teams.
As a Vice President Market lead for Professionals, you will act as the focal point for all coordination, training and workload management across the team. You will focus on managing risks and controls, resolving escalations and working with the Market leadership to ensure effective professionals support to the Market across the core tasks of Onboarding, Maintenance and Service to Order Taking and Execution. The Professionals Team is highly visible and works cross-functionally with multiple internal teams on day to day support. As the China Team and Hong Kong Platform lead, you will play a key role in driving consistency across teams and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and implementing best practices across Teams. You will coordinate with offshore support teams and be the point of contact for the Regional leadership team.
We are seeking an exceptional leader who is enthusiastic, high-performing, skilled in dealing with senior stakeholders and has a strong focus on managing a robust control environment. You will be an effective 'player Coach' and seasoned leader with extensive experience in supporting Advisers across the client lifecycle and excellent people management skills.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee the daily support to Client Advisors and Clients across all aspects of daily Advisor business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution. Leverage AI-driven technologies to streamline processes and enhance service delivery. Manage escalations and be the focal point for Market and Regional Business leaders.
- Champion digital-first initiatives, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to improve efficiency and client / advisor experience. Drive the adoption of digital tools and platforms to facilitate seamless interactions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Professionals, fostering a collaborative and integrated environment aligned with the Private Bank's standards. Be an exceptional people leader who can engage and motivate a diverse team, holding them accountable for their actions and driving performance excellence.
- Establish and maintain a strong control environment by implementing and monitoring effective controls to mitigate risks. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, conducting regular audits and reviews to identify and address potential weaknesses. Focus on maintaining a robust control environment.
- Manage compliance with diverse regulatory requirements. Stay informed of changes in regulations and ensure that operations are aligned with local laws and standards. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory challenges and implement necessary changes.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to include: Regional and Market Leadership Teams, Offshore Support Teams and internal partners to help define and implement new processes and maintain senior leader engagement.
- Verify and maintain data quality related to client hierarchy and account alignment, ensuring integrity and accuracy.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Extensive experience in advisor / client support operations (ARM), team management, or business management within the financial services industry
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; and appropriate local regulatory qualifications.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships.
- Strong proficiency in AI-driven technologies, Microsoft Office programs, and experience in process flow analysis/mapping. Familiarity with digital tools and platforms to enhance client service operations.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and geographies.
- Proficient in written and spoken Mandarin
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Advanced degree preferred
- Experience in Private Banking
- Experience in managing and developing teams
- Familiarity with end-to-end bank infrastructure, including advisors, client service, product, compliance, risk, technology, operations, controls, and data management.
