About the Role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate / Associate to join our International Arbitration team based in Hong Kong or Germany.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Advising clients on various aspects of contentious, particular international arbitration proceedings, from pre-arbitral strategy through to enforcement of awards
- Conducting legal research and preparing memoranda
- Drafting and reviewing pleadings, written submissions, witness statements, and expert reports
- Managing document review and disclosure exercises
- Assisting with the preparation and conduct of hearings, including witness preparation and cross-examination support
- Engaging with arbitral institutions and managing procedural aspects of arbitration proceedings
- Advising on the recognition, enforcement, and challenge of arbitral awards
- Supporting business development initiatives, including pitches, client alerts, thought leadership, and training programmes
- Mentoring and supervising junior associates and trainees, as appropriate
About You

- You have relevant, post-qualification experience in international arbitration and disputes, preferably working within an international law firm with the responsibilities listed above for at least 2 to 3 years
- You are a civil law qualified lawyer, preferably in a continental European jurisdiction, and additional common law qualifications are welcome
- Fluency in English and (Mandarin) Chinese is required, additional European languages are welcome
- Attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, team work, and willingness to learn

Skills Required
- Post-qualification experience in international arbitration and disputes (2-3 years)
- Civil law qualified lawyer
- Continental European jurisdiction qualification (preferred)
- Common law qualifications (welcome)
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese
- Experience advising across the full arbitration lifecycle including pleadings, hearings, document review and enforcement of awards
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and communication skills, teamwork and willingness to learn
- Experience mentoring and supervising junior associates or trainees
