Job Description:

The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of International Advancement Associate.

This position provides advanced administrative support for two Regional Directors in International Advancement (IA) in order to help build a strong and supportive community of international alumni, parents and friends at Brown University. This position will handle most administrative duties, which include but are not limited to: meeting/travel arrangements, database maintenance, correspondence and briefings, research, and event support. This position is also responsible for most information technology tasks and functions in support of the directors.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field such as alumni relations, fundraising, higher education, nonprofits, sales, customer service,  development, etc. 

Job Competencies

  • Proficient with audio/visual and presentation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams or WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Expertise in Microsoft and Google platforms, especially Google Calendar and email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and project and time management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment with emphasis on accuracy and deadline adherence. Ability to effectively and efficiently multitask and prioritize workload.

  • Highly collaborative and strong interpersonal skills in building relationships with external and internal constituents. 

  • Ability to apply tact and maintain confidentiality. Customer-focused, customer service orientation

  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks while meeting all requirements of the job

  • Initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team

  • Knowledge of BSR Advance and Blackbaud preferred.

  • Knowledge of or interest in international affairs preferred.

  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
