This position will be based in Charlotte, NC.
Reporting
This position will report to the Director of Internal Communications & Experience.
Summary of Role
The Internal Communications Specialist is an operational hub for Palmetto's internal communications function. You'll work closely with the Director of Internal Communications & Engagement to keep the CEO's communications running smoothly and ensure company-wide communications are produced, published, and tracked with consistency and care. This role is execution focused, the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks and every communication goes out looking sharp and on time.
Strategic & Tactical
- Manage the CEO's editorial calendar and communications cadence, coordinating deadlines and follow-up actions
- Prepare communication materials, draft templates, and supporting content for review by the Director of Internal Communications & Engagement and the CEO
- Proofread, edit, and format communications to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy before publication
- Coordinate logistics for CEO speaking engagements, Lunch & Learns, and other communications initiatives
- Repurpose content across channels including Slack, LinkedIn, the company newsletter, FAQs, and manager talking points
- Produce and publish the company newsletter on a regular cadence
- Support the production and communications for All Hands and Town Hall events
- Draft organizational announcements and manage recurring communications
- Coordinate employee campaigns and other communication projects from start to finish
- Maintain communication templates and document processes to build consistency across the function
- Assist with content development, research, and storytelling for internal communications
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in communications, content coordination, executive support, or a related role
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
- Experience supporting executive communications or working closely with senior leadership
- Familiarity with internal communications channels (newsletters, all-hands, Slack, etc.)
- Highly organized and proactive — able to anticipate needs and keep work moving without being asked
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift
- Experience with content management tools, project management platforms, or communications software is a plus
