Chatham is a technology and advisory firm whose capital markets execution, accounting, and reporting solutions help asset managers and institutional users of debt optimize and execute their capital markets strategy. Through a seamless ecosystem of solutions, where unbiased human insight meets technology, we distill complexity into a clear, independent POV that delivers indispensable value for our clients. We are their unbiased, candid partner, advocating for their best interests and ensuring they get the most precise, efficient, and effective solutions possible to cut the most direct path to their goals.

The Internal Communications Manager role reports to the Director, Content & Communications and works closely with the CMO, leadership, HR, and cross-functional teams to ensure our internal messaging fosters clarity, trust, and consistency at every level. You'll play a pivotal role in enabling employees to connect their daily work to broader company goals, while also reinforcing an inclusive, engaging, and informed employee culture. This role requires strong execution across multiple formats, channels, and audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute internal communication strategies aligned with company goals, culture, and values.
  • Facilitate the cascading of messaging from leadership, HR, and business functions to drive clarity, alignment, and trust.
  • Ensure the internal narrative connects day-to-day work to the larger business strategy and outcomes.
  • Support initiatives that reinforce our internal brand and Employee Value Proposition (EVP), ensuring consistent alignment across teams.
  • Execute strategic campaigns that translate business initiatives, milestones, and priorities into engaging and actionable content.
  • Collaborate with Content, PR, and Marketing colleagues to ensure consistency of messaging across all channels.
  • Facilitate the creation of compelling written, visual, and video content across multiple channels: newsletters, intranet, digital signage, Teams, and executive communications.
  • Use storytelling to build understanding, surface voices from across the organization, and promote key messages that reinforce company goals.
  • Adapt internal content (or create) for external platforms like website, LinkedIn and Glassdoor to support recruitment marketing and brand consistency.
  • Create and deliver assets and tools for use by HR, Talent Acquisition, People Experience, and Learning to reinforce company principles across the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding and growth to recognition and well-being.
  • Help to develop internal narratives that reflect our culture, values, and EVP, enhancing both employee engagement and employer brand perception.
  • Support communications for cultural moments, people programs, and community-building efforts.
  • Ensure messaging is inclusive, authentic, maintains brand voice, adheres to our EVP and is aligned across all touchpoints.
  • Manage internal communications platforms such as intranet, Teams, newsletters, internal social, and email systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate channel performance and employee engagement data to continuously refine communication strategy and delivery.
  • Ensure content accessibility and adherence to voice, tone, and brand guidelines.
  • Develop toolkits, talking points, and content frameworks to support leaders in clearly and consistently communicating strategic direction.
  • Assist with coaching executives and people managers on storytelling and engagement techniques that help align teams and reinforce priorities.
  • Lead communication planning for change initiatives, organizational updates, and transformation efforts, ensuring clarity and transparency.
  • Support the development of timely, clear response communications during sensitive or high-impact moments.
  • Use feedback loops (e.g., surveys, listening channels) to gauge message effectiveness and guide iteration.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to synthesize business strategy into clear, actionable employee communications.
  • Strong understanding of internal branding, organizational culture, and leadership alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional campaigns and executive communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and narrative development skills.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with internal communication platforms and tools, such as: Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Email tools, and Survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Culture Amp). Design tool familiarity a plus (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience tracking and optimizing communication effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with the employee lifecycle and key HR communications touchpoints.
  • Strong interest in utilizing AI tools to improve ROI on communications efforts.

Education and Experience
