This is a unique opportunity to shape how more than 7,000 frontline and manufacturing employees experience communications across one of McCain's most diverse and fast-evolving regions.
As our Internal Communications Business Partner for Manufacturing, you will lead communication strategies that connect employees working in plants across GB & EMENA to our business priorities, culture, and transformation journey.
Based in Scarborough and visiting manufacturing sites across the region, you'll work alongside plant leaders, HR teams, and Operations leadership to ensure communications are relevant, engaging, and designed for frontline audiences.
You'll play a key role in strengthening our network of site communication ambassadors, bringing employee insights into regional planning, and helping business leaders communicate with clarity and impact.
Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, you'll contribute to major regional initiatives while acting as the team's subject matter expert for manufacturing and frontline communications.
What You'll Be Doing
Manufacturing & Frontline Communications
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that effectively reach and engage frontline and manufacturing employees across the region.
  • Translate business priorities, leadership messages, and change initiatives into clear, relevant communications tailored for plant-based audiences.
  • Recommend the most effective channels, formats, and approaches for reaching operators and deskless employees.
  • Create scalable communication toolkits and resources that can be adapted locally across different sites and markets.

Safety & Employee Engagement
  • Lead communication support for regional safety priorities, campaigns, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Partner with Safety, HR, and Operations teams to ensure employees understand key priorities and actions.
  • Turn employee feedback and Voice survey insights into meaningful communication plans that demonstrate progress and responsiveness.
  • Help ensure frontline perspectives are reflected in wider regional communication strategies.

Employee Engagement
  • Work closely with HR and Employee Engagement teams to turn employee feedback into meaningful communications and visible action.
  • Ensure frontline voices are heard by closing the feedback loop and responding to ideas and concerns.
  • Bring manufacturing insights into regional communication planning to ensure campaigns reflect what matters most to operators.

Ambassador Network
  • Lead and grow a network of manufacturing communication ambassadors across the region.
  • Create strong two-way communication channels, sharing key messages while gathering feedback, ideas and success stories from local sites.
  • Build trusted relationships with plant leaders and HR teams to keep the network engaged and effective.

Regional Communications
  • Build and coordinate a strong network of manufacturing communication ambassadors across the region.
  • Create effective two-way communication channels that encourage the sharing of feedback, ideas, and success stories.
  • Establish trusted relationships with plant leadership and HR teams to support communication effectiveness at site level.
  • Identify and share best practices that can be leveraged across the region.

Local Leadership Support
  • Bring a frontline perspective to major regional campaigns, transformation programmes, and leadership communications.
  • Support the delivery of employee events, leadership engagements, and business-wide initiatives.
  • Provide communication guidance and coaching to site leadership teams to help them communicate with confidence and consistency.
  • Use audience insights and feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
  • Develop frameworks, playbooks and best-practice guidance that enable consistent communications across plants.
  • Support leaders in delivering key business messages and connecting employees to regional priorities.

What you'll need to be successful.
Essential
  • Proven experience in internal communications, ideally supporting manufacturing, frontline or deskless employee populations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English skills, with a strong eye for detail and confidence reviewing and refining communications content.
  • The ability to turn complex messages into clear, engaging communications using simple language, visual storytelling and audience-appropriate channels.
  • Experience working with translated and multilingual content across different markets and cultures.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with leaders, HR teams and site-based stakeholders across multiple locations.
  • A collaborative, self-motivated approach, with the ability to coordinate networks of contacts and drive activity with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written, visual and digital communication skills, with experience using a range of communication and design tools.

Desirable
  • Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or another manufacturing-led business.
  • Experience working across multiple countries, cultures or with multilingual audiences.
  • Graphic design skills and/or basic video/audio editing.
  • Interest or experience using AI and digital tools to make operator communication faster, simpler or more visual (e.g. content adaptation, translation or design tools).
  • Experience in safety communication or campaign delivery, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

You'll join a regional Internal Communications team of four, reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, alongside two other Internal Communications Specialists. This close-knit team works together to shape and deliver communications strategies across the region, with this role bringing a dedicated focus on manufacturing and frontline audiences
