Position Summary:

With assistance from more senior engineers, design and develop new products, from 3D modeling to drawing creation and production implementation, based on customer feedback and sales requirements. Product development engineering intern position is for Sport Truck USA brands developing product for BDS Suspension, Zone Offroad, JKS Manufacturing, and Baja Kits among other brands.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform entry-level duties in assigned department.
  • Design and develop new suspension products and testing tools, from 3D modeling and prototyping to drawing creation and production implementation.
  • Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. 
  • Attend company meetings and functions.
  • Shadow employees and train in a variety of tasks. 

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Engineering design knowledge
  • Time management and prioritization abilities
  • Data gathering and analysis skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office use

Position Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.  Enrolled in a college/university degree program.  Some positions may require pre-requisite college courses.  

Experience: 

No experience required, but 1+ years of experience with previous internship programs or general work experience preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Office or production/manufacturing environment depending on assignment

May be required to lift 20 lbs. frequently

May be required to walk, stand, sit, bend and/or lift for long periods of time.

May require vision abilities to validate and enter data on computer.
