POSITION PURPOSE:
Candidates will work within the fund operations team on projects geared towards solving real business challenges and will work across the CIM business with Management, Sales, Portfolio Oversite, Marketing, and IT. As part of this internship, candidates will have the opportunity to participate in internal training, ‘shadow’ internal team members, develop product knowledge, and assist leadership on department-specific projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attend and participate in meetings with portfolio oversite and the sales team to develop business acumen – both industry and product related.
- Work closely with the Operations Team to establish recurring tasks and track progress through Salesforce.
- Collaborate with internal groups to help streamline workflows and buildout various policies and procedures
- Learn excellent project management skills to allow multiple projects to run concurrently and ensure timely completion
- Provide support in organizing SharePoint platform to disseminate information internally between teams and offices
- Assist on special department projects (internal projects/ client specific/ data input)
- Accept and apply coaching and feedback.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program; Minimum GPA 3.2
- Significant interest in the workings of the financial markets, sales, and investment management profession.
- Strong critical thinker who is a strong self-starter
- High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Demonstrate the highest personal ethics and integrity
- Paid; 30-32 hours per week at CIM’s office in Phoenix, AZ
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal.
- Ability to write correspondence and/or reports
- Ability to effectively present information to lenders and other employees of the organization.
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
- Deadline-driven and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and proactively evaluate/address work opportunities within the area of responsibility
- Ability to solve practical problems

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.
