Intern – EU Public Affairs (Brussels)
The global Public Affairs and Communications Consultancy, Grayling, is looking to recruit a paid intern in its Brussels office, ideally starting in May 2025 for a 6-month period. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across a range of sectors, including Health, Agri-Food, Tech-Digital, Trade, Transport, and Energy-Environment.
The day to day
You’ll be supervised by Consultants and introduced to the day-to-day support of client accounts. Key responsibilities will include:
- Legislative and policy monitoring – tracking EU policy and legislative developments relevant to clients.
- Research and analysis – conducting background research on policy topics, stakeholders, and industry trends.
- Stakeholder mapping and audits – identifying key decision-makers and influencers in relevant policy areas.
- Media and social media support – monitoring news coverage, drafting content, and assisting with digital communications.
- Event support – assisting in the planning and coordination of events, roundtables, and workshops.
- New business development – supporting the development of proposals and pitch presentations.
About you
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Political Science, EU Affairs, International Relations, Political Communications, etc.).
- Have a strong understanding and interest in the EU institutional system and policymaking.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in Public Affairs and Public Relations, with a willingness to learn.
- Ideally you’ll have some prior internship experience in EU policy, particularly in health, environmental, agri-food, or energy policies.
- Fluent in English (fluency in other EU languages is desirable).
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable multitasking and working across a range of topics.
