As an Intern on Micron's Inbound Supply Management team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the availability and flow of materials that enable Micron's manufacturing operations. This outstanding opportunity allows you to work alongside Supply Managers who partner globally to balance inventory levels, support production needs, and improve supply continuity.
In this role, you will collaborate with internal partners and external suppliers to analyze inventory data, resolve supply challenges, and help find opportunities to prevent future shortages. You will be part of a global, team-oriented environment passionate about timely delivery, thoughtful inventory management, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and monitor global inventory to support manufacturing demand while reducing excess and waste, including maintenance of safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and obsolescence plans.
- Support inventory scheduling and delivery activities, including coordinating order adjustments with suppliers when demand or availability changes.
- Assist with resolving delivery risks by advancing and expediting supply issues in alignment with established processes.
- Partner with collaborators to review performance metrics and key indicators, helping identify trends, root causes, and improvement actions.
- Investigate forecast variances and demand-supply gaps, supporting business partners in resolving misalignments that impact volume and timing.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and suppliers to understand requirements, share updates, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Contribute ideas and insights to supply management strategies, processes, and policies through participation in projects and team initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support global supply fulfillment priorities and inventory management improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be an active student and not graduate before September 2026.
- Demonstrated communication and customer-focused skills, along with analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to support multiple workstreams with thoughtful prioritization and clear documentation.
- Self-starter who is comfortable learning in evolving and exploratory problem spaces.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
